 ADD-NI are bowled over by cricket club generosity

Muckamore Cricket Club has chosen ADD-NI Children’s Charity as their nominated charity of the year for 2011-2012. Members of the cricket club have dedicated the next 12 months to raise essential funds for the Belfast based Children’s Charity.

ADD-NI is very grateful to the cricket club for selecting them and are looking forward to the events they have planned for the forthcoming year. The AD/HD support centre has been supporting and empowering children, young people and their families for 15 years and recently opened a new post programme support facility in September. The new venture will be of huge benefit for the young people who will be able to check in with each other periodically and work through any current difficulties they are going through.

The cricket club have already got the ball rolling by holding a pool tournament in the club house on Saturday 10th December raising £110. This was a great success and after 6 play-offs the final was won by Jamie from Antrim beating ADD-NI staff Jayne comfortably. There was also a raffle in which local supporter Jason took the top prize kindly donated by Vintage Rose Florists in Randalstown. Thanks are extended to everyone who supported the event, especially to the committee and staff at Muckamore Cricket Club for their generosity. ADD-NI Director Sarah Salters commented “We are very grateful that the cricket club has chosen to support us for the year ahead. The young people will be delight to learn of the efforts of others to help & support them. I would encourage everyone to get behind the cricket club and give them as much encouragement and support as you can”.
