The Youth Committee launched their educational DVD entitled "It’s Okay to have AD/HD" at Stormont and the Commissioner attended the event to lend her support.  The DVD targets young people with AD/HD and aims to give them information on the condition and an insight into the lives of the Youth Committee, including their experiences at school.

At the reception, ADD-NI’s Youth Committee gave the Commissioner an update on where the DVD was distributed and an insight to the feedback from organisations that have used the DVD.  Northern Ireland’s Commissioner for Children and Young people Patricia Lewsley said

"It is NICCY’s concern to promote and safe guard the rights and best interests of children and young people.  This is what ADD-NI does for young people with AD/HD and therefore we are proud to be associated with their work," said the Commissioner.

"The ADD-NI Youth Committee has put a lot of work into the production, promotion and distribution of their DVD and believes it will help others with AD/HD understand the condition and realise that it is okay to have AD/HD.  I am delighted to learn how their DVD has been received and the feedback is very positive," she added.
